3 Things I Learned This Week

Mapping Freedom 2023 is over! It has been an amazing journey! I am so glad I was allowed to participate in this program. I met so many new people who have taught me new things that have allowed my knowledge to expand more. Learning more about the citizens of Mississippi through CWRGM has been eye-opening. My understanding of the Civil War has grown, not only in the basic facts about it but also in the more nuanced ways, such as through my project with attitudes about secession or through the others' projects about their topics. The research I conducted challenged me and allowed me to gain new skills in the process, such as speed reading. Everyone was kind and I loved bonding with my colleagues through the project. Again, this project has been a very fun ride! I look forward to seeing its future of it and I hope to see future participants enjoy Mapping Freedom just as much as I did.
